My Tasks and Team Tasks

Use tasks to keep track of an investigation or follow-up action. My Tasks focuses on work assigned to you. Team Tasks shows the team work your permissions allow you to see.

Create a task

  1. Open My Tasks or Team Tasks.
  2. Select New task.
  3. Enter a specific Title and a useful Description.
  4. Choose an Assignee. The default is Me.
  5. Choose a Team, or keep Personal task.
  6. Set a Due date and Priority if needed.
  7. Select Create task.

Example title: “Check September Sales decline in North”. In the description, include the report, date range, relevant evidence, and the question the assignee needs to resolve.

Find work

Use Search, Status, Priority, Source, and Due by to narrow the list. Sources include manual, alert, AI, and report.

If the list says No tasks match these filters, clear the filters before assuming a task was deleted.

Update progress

Open a task to review its details. If you have permission, change its Status, Priority, or Assignee; these changes save automatically. A Due date change saves when you leave the field.

  1. OPENRecorded; work has not started.
  2. IN_PROGRESSSomeone is working on it.
  3. BLOCKEDProgress needs help or a dependency.
  4. DONEThe work is complete.

This illustrates common task states, not a required sequence. CANCELLED is also available for work that is no longer needed. A task can move out of BLOCKED when the dependency is resolved.

Collaborate with context

Use Comments to record findings, questions, and handovers. Where offered, mention a colleague using the mention control. Review Activity history to see how the task has changed.

A task created from an alert keeps source context. Follow the related evidence before changing the underlying business process.

Close the loop

Before marking a task DONE, add a comment explaining the outcome and any remaining follow-up. If the task cannot proceed, use BLOCKED and describe what is needed.
