Explore reports
Power BI reports contain charts, tables, and filters prepared for your organisation. AtroBI lets you explore them alongside Ask AtroBI.
You need: report access in the active AtroBI workspace and the required Power BI access for that report.
Open a report
- Check the workspace menu at the top right.
- Select Analytics, a report shortcut on Overview, or a report under Pinned reports.
- If shown a report list, select the report you need.
- Complete Microsoft sign-in if prompted.
A configured default report may open directly. If the report is not listed, see troubleshooting.
Report navigation: Open Analytics or a pinned report from the sidebar. A default report may open directly.
Change what you are looking at
| Control | What it changes | Example |
|---|---|---|
| Report page or tab | The report section on the canvas | Sales summary → Regional detail |
| Slicer or filter | Which data is included | All regions → North |
| Selection in a chart | The highlighted or filtered portion, depending on the report design | Select one product |
| Ask AtroBI | The question being analysed | Compare Sales with last year |
The exact controls depend on how the report was built. Clear filters you no longer need before making a new comparison.
Use the report with Ask AtroBI
Ask AtroBI can use supported report-page context when it is available and enabled. Look at the context notice in the panel before relying on page filters.
If the panel says it is using approved data without current page filters, include the needed dates and filters in your question. A visible chart selection is not proof that the AI question includes it. Check Metrics, filters and evidence on the answer.
Apply a proposed report change
Some answers propose a report action, such as changing a filter. Read the action card, then select Apply if you want to make that change. Select Undo on the card to reverse it.
This action is separate from asking a data question and separate from saving an edit to Power BI.
Preview a chart and return to the report
Supported chart requests can open a temporary Power BI visual over the report. Use Return to original report to close that preview.
A temporary AI preview does not save a change to the source report. It may require Authoring permission and Microsoft editing rights. Supported shapes include column, bar, line, card, and table; some comparisons or calculations cannot be reproduced as a native preview.
If Add to Power BI is offered to an authorised author, it follows a separate flow: choose a page, visual, and title; select Preview; then explicitly select Save to Power BI to keep the change, or Undo to remove the previewed addition.
Keep your place
Use Saved investigations in the bottom report tools to save the current report state. See saving and revisiting your work for how this differs from saving an AI result.
